When you are starting a new internet business or even have had the business for a while there are certain tips to survive and stay focused during the festive season.
One, if you are going to have a designated holiday (ie you have been working hard and have decided to take a break) - then have it. Although it is also a great idea to set up drip feed articles to your websites.
Two, you may choose to moderate your festive season - work but on a skeleton crew.... reduced capacity to allow for socialising with family and friends. If this is the case... and
a) if you live in the a drinking culture such as many of us do in the West here are some tips. If you are catching up early in the day, say over lunch - try moderating your alcohol intake to a couple of drinks so you are still good to work later in the day. If you are out at night and know that you are prone to hangovers and thus not productive at all the next day - try to make sure you eat and have a glass of water or two between alcoholic drinks. Then leave a bit earlier than usual so you have more chance of feeling fresh the next day or at least awake before midday!
b) choose to have every second day off thus making the most of quality time with family and friends and yet not feeling guilty as you would if you left your business unattended for a week or three.
c) choose to say no to some invitations - if they are not so close to you or it is not important that you attend - isolate yourself and be productive instead - Christmas time can be a wonderful time also for catching up or getting ahead with work projects or even just taking time for research and development.
Anyway whatever you choose, enjoy and be safe.
Cheers!
And the Winner is….
